A Message From The President
Wow! It is already October. This year is flying by and Georgia Chapter 22 has so much to be proud of during 2011.
As Host of IRWA’s 57th Annual International Education Conference, we have received nothing but high marks for all our efforts. There were 1,026 attendees at this year’s IRWA Annual Education Conference.
Cheryl Lee, SR/WA, and Joe Neighbors, SR/WA, Conference Co-Chairs, along with the assistance of IRWA’s Headquarters staff, Jade Yoong, Daniel Stekol and others, planned one of the most successful conferences. It all started with the Opening Ceremony to Casino Night, the Golf Tournament, the Finnegan Fun Run to the close of the Conference with the Installation Banquet and Dance.
We could not have put on such a memorable conference without the assistance of our Region 6 Chapters. The Volunteers from these Chapters were so eager to help us out and stepped right up to the plate. Curtis Anthony, SR/WA, Co-Chaired the Volunteer Committee with me and did a tremendous job in signing up Volunteers for this Conference.
I also would like to thank all the other Conference Committee Chairs for their assistance with the Conference – Caroline Abbey, Vi Bean, Lynn Green, SR/WA, Kay Kersey, SR/WA, Chuck Scarborough, Barbara Scott, and Wes Singletary.
Our Southern Hospitality will be remembered for quite some time!
Georgia Chapter 22 continues to receive new Member Applications. We need to continue to promote our organization and bring in those new Members. If you have any potential Members, please get them in contact with Brenda Horman, Membership Chair.
Sandy Tyler, SR/WA, Professional Development Chair, has sent out an e-mail on information about Two New Policies: SR/WA Comprehensive Exams & Ethics Courses for Recertification. Please take a look at this important e-mail.
Our next upcoming event will be our October 19th Membership Meeting held at Mary Mac’s.
