2014 Message from the President
Chapter 22 members, welcome to 2014! I hope your holidays and winter break were restful, safe and enjoyable! If it seems like I wrote that before, you are right! Last year our chapter was successful in changing our bylaws and fiscal year to align with IRWA corporate and in doing so I get to serve you again as President until June 30th of this year.
The beginning of a new year always seems to be a time of reflection, planning and resolutions. Many use this time to get organized for the year. Now would be a great time to give some serious thought to what, not only you can do for yourself, but what you could do for others. I was touched by a great article I read recently about our past chapter president, Susan Sears, and her dedication to the USO. Volunteering is a great way to reach out to your community, meet new friends, learn new skills and even advance your career. We are all busy with our day to day lives but as you begin to set out your plans for 2014 give some thought to giving your time to a cause or organization that is important to you.
As our IRWA chapter moves into 2014 please also give some thought on its leadership, we are taking nominations now through April for a new member to join our board as treasurer. Are you interested in serving you IRWA chapter? Nominate yourself! I look forward seeing you all at our next chapter meeting at Mary Macs on February 5th. Happy New year!
